My Story

I was first drawn to music by a connection with my dad, who was an excellent pianist. I always wanted to play drums and at 16 years old, I prayed to God, and two weeks later, I got my first drumming opportunity. To practise, I made a deal with my music teacher to play in the school band if I could play the drums every lunch hour.
This practise paid off; I won the Music Spirit Award in high school. I learned how to play guitar and pian as well, and ended up singing in front of the whole school. Between the ages of 16 and 21, I learned to play five instruments and sing.
I am inspired by a student's interest in music truly coming alive, whether they are children or adult learners. I also believe a great aspect of music education is not just telling people what to do or where to place their fingers, but developing a deeper understanding of music that they can use in all areas of their lives. For me, teaching is about having fun while learning proper techniques to make playing music easier and more enjoyable, exploring its emotions, and understanding the theory. I apply the same concepts to my personally developed curriculum, which teaches music teachers how to teach music, builds confidence in their students, and transforms musicians into leaders. I also credit my past role as a pastor with my love for playing and teaching music.
